Video Tutorials for Luxriot EVO and Luxriot VMS for your convenience, we have created video tutorials on Luxriot product installation and configuration. Luxriot mobile client has been on the market for years now. Yet, following the recently introduced EVO software family and growing customer demands, the Mobile App has had a facelift and the latest version boasts even more features, smarter operation and a smoother interface. Luxriot EVO has a built in Video Surveillance Virtual CCTV Matrix. Camera streams and managed and distributed by the EVO Server, delivering video to an unlimited number of client connections. EVO Global takes the Video Matrix concept further with multiple servers connected within the EVO network, connecting cameras, clients and displays globally.

All versions of EVO support the use of the mobile App available in IOS (iPhone & iPad) and Android versions, some understanding of internet port forwarding is required to set up your system for remote viewing.

We have a free simple generic guide available for download which covers connecting CCTV systems for remote viewing over broadband. EVO servers come complete with a built in video broadcast server, Broadcast Server allows connection via browsers such as Chrome as well as the mobile Apps.

EVO Servers have a single external port for remote connection and delivery of video, Global systems require an individual ideally unique port number allocated per recording server, this allows easy port forwarding and mapping for multiple servers on a single site, for example 8080 >Global Server, 8091 > Record Server 1, 8092 Record Server 2. Help and advice on remote connectivity is available from Videcom, we are also able to offer remote support packages to help set up the remote access for you.

IP Ports

Luxriot evo thin client download

Your network adaptor(s) in your EVO server have an IP address, this address is unique on your network and identifies the address on your server so others can find you. Ports are like rooms in your computer where programs and applications can be reached, there are standard defined portssuch as 80 and 443 for internet browsing. EVO has default ports for the streaming server of 8080.

A simple test

Using your preferred browser (Chrome recommended) on your server navigate to http://127.0.0.1:8080, where 1270.0.1 is your localhost IP address and 8080 is the port for your streaming server. You should be presented with a login screen and using your admin credentials you should be able to log into the web interface client and select your cameras (see manual).

Basic Port Forwarding

In order to connect to your EVO Server you need to know where your server is in the world (WAN IP), your Server IP address that connected to your internet router and your port number (8080 default). If your internet connection uses a dynamic IP address (not fixed) you should be able to set-up an IP tracking service, for example No-IP or DYN-DNS. This service will track your WAN IP against a chosen URL.

Bringing it all together

You will need admin access to your internet router, most common routers support port forwarding (please refer your router manual) this enables traffic arriving at you router externally to be forwarded to an internal IP device (your server). In our example our servers IP is 192.168.0.100 and port 8080 (default). Our WAN is managed by a DNS service and we track our WAN IP with our chosen URL 'evoserver.here.com'. If we now place our client computer (or mobile App) outside of our networkour server IP address will be evoserver.here.com:8080 [our.chosen.dns:port]. If you have a fixed WAN IP then you can just use this.

Final Port Forward Steps and Testing

In our simple single server example. On your router set-up port forwarding, so incoming traffic for port 8080 is forwarded to 192.168.0.100:8080 [serverIP:port]

We recommend you now test everything is working using a browser before proceeding with the mobile App installation. Browse to your server using your external credentials (evoserver.here.com:8080).

You should again get the browser login, now go to your chosen App or Play store and download the Luxriot EVO App.

Set-up your Server and Connect

Open your App and select Add Server, complete the data fields and add your credentials, once complete click save.

Your now ready to go, click your server name on your server list and you should automatically connect. Use the more options icon (3 dots) to select cameras or navigate to Archive to playback.

Other icons include screen layouts, Stream Statistics and options for user buttons, Alarm Events and Widgets.

Stream Video and Replay

In order to stream your mobile device camera you first need to set up a new device in console. Add a new device and select Model: External Source.Console will generate a unique TOKEN. Using the App form options select Stream Camera, the first time this request is made you will be requested to enter the token so your mobile can be registered.

Client

When your mobile is working you can move onto the channel configuration and .

Record or Live Stream your camera

. set-up recording profiles to record on EVO your transmission stream. If you wish to also enable 'Offline' recording please enable EDGE Recording and choose your recording profile.

From the main App menu you can now select to record from your camera even when not connected and upload this video to EVO later.

Video files are saved on your mobile until uploaded manually to your chosen server.

The Luxriot EVO App allows users access to live and recorded footage as well as alarm event notification, Action Buttons and widget displays. EVO Console allows for the configuration of user access levels with UAC controls to restrict users who can actively deploy and connect using the App. Development is always ongoing including the sending of GPS data from the mobile device to your EVO Servers.

Luxriot EVO Global Port Forwarding:

EVO Global network configuration can be a little more challenging, if you Buy EVO Global from Videcom we will, if requested, provide support and advice on network configuration and port forwarding. Unlike EVO S, Global supports multiple cameras and Network configuration and proper planning is essential to get the most from your system. The Mobile App on Global sites just connected to your Global Server, providing your recording servers have internet facing access and the appropriate port forwarding configured, you will be able to see all configured devices on this single connection.

Enhanced Usability

Luxriot EVO Thin Client

Designed to work with Luxriot EVO Global and EVO S, EVO Mobile easily handles hundreds of channels thanks to a number of usability improvements. You can enter multiple EVO S servers for the app to connect to, or simply take advantage of your multi-recording-server EVO Global system and connect to all recording servers at once.

App preferences and user settings include incoming streams and device camera setup, as well as widgets and network preferences.

The mobile client is HTTPS-friendly and will work with both self-signed digital certificates and those issued by certificate authorities.

EVO Mobile Client is a well thought out App designed to work on IOS and Android and is available direct from your App Store.

Intuitive Simplicity

EVO Mobile is intuitive, easy to navigate and user friendly. Servers are easily added, IP Address, UAC credentials, along with a little port forwarding at server end.

Select your favourite view - 2x1, 2x2, 2x3 or single channel.

Swipe left or right to see the next set of streams.

Tap any channel to open it full screen and tap it again to hide all excessive controls.

Switch from live to playback with a single tap.

Long tap brings up a hidden menu with a bunch of channel-specific actions when used in the multichannel live view.

Smart Streaming

Luxriot

You may have already used EVO Mobile for casting video from your phone's camera to EVO servers.

What you probably did not know is that you can add a virtually unlimited number of mobile devices to your EVO server: only those currently streaming will use the license. In other words, licensing for the mobile app channels works similarly to a Netflix subscription: you can install the app any number of times on many different devices, and the license only limits the number of simultaneously used connections.

Stream you Mobile Camera

You can initiate live streaming from the server menu (top left corner), or, alternatively, pre-configure a panic button. This button widget, when tapped, will connect you to the target server and start streaming immediately. There is also an option to record these sessions on the server side simply by enabling continuous recording for the main stream. The recorded data include both video and audio, as well as GPS coordinates - if enabled in the app settings. Apart from the video overlay, EVO geo maps also reflect the GPS position, making you able to see all the presently transmitting devices in their live locations. And there's good news for devices supporting H.265 - EVO Mobile can both decode and encode H.265 streams for you.

What else is there?

As you might expect, EVO Mobile features two-way audio. This means that, during the live session, you can hear what is happening on the sender side - and talk back to them right from the EVO Monitor application.

Luxriot Evo Client

If you are not a fan of live stream delivery, or if constant mobile connection burns up your data, EVO Mobile offers a great alternative: offline recording. It is also called edge, or on-board recording. The app stores the recordings on your phone until you decide to upload them to the server (or maybe different servers). Simply enable edge recording for the mobile channel on the server side, and there they are! Note that you cannot do that with a regular camera app - EVO Mobile only.

Remote E&A

Integration with EVO Event & Action manager takes EVO Mobile to the next level and adds extra flexibility to your pocket client.

What events do: you get notified about everything happening on your servers. Enabled by default on the app side, push notifications can be turned off in the server settings. You can view the event list and jump to the archive instantly to investigate the related footage. To configure events on the server side, use the Send event to client action in the E&A Configurator with the Display event in mobile application option enabled.

How actions work: via user buttons. Simply bind the desired action to any user button and then tap & hold it in the app to trigger the operation.

Luxriot EVO Thin Client

A very traditional example of what a user button can do is email sending - perhaps, also with a channel snapshot attached. But EVO Event & Action manager goes way beyond that! Its extensive list of available actions comprises full control over your video walls, triggers, and notifications to various third-party services including OPC servers and access control software, audio alerts to cameras and clients, and many more.
